Approximately 170 calories

Ingredients

  • 1 Dr. Praeger’s Veggie Burger
  • 2 portobello mushroom caps
  • Lettuce
  • Tomato
  • Onion
  • Mustard or any low calorie condiment

Instructions

  1. Start by cleaning the portobello mushrooms. You can rinse them under warm water and then wipe clean with a paper towel. Next cut off the stem of the mushroom. You can also buy pre-cut portobello mushrooms.
  2. Preheat the oven to 350℉ or turn on the stove top to medium heat to allow the grill pan to preheat.
  3. Lightly spray the portobello mushroom caps with oil so they don’t stick to the baking sheet or grill pan.
  4. Sprinkle some seasoning on the mushroom caps to add some extra flavor. You can use a small amount of salt and pepper, fresh dried herbs, garlic powder, or any other seasoning blend.
  5. You can bake the portobello mushroom caps in the oven for 10-12 minutes or you can heat them through on a grill pan on medium heat for 5 minutes. After you heat up the mushroom cap, you may need to blot it dry with a paper towel to absorb some extra moisture.
  6. Cook the veggie burger on the stove top and allow it to heat through. They are already fully cooked so it shouldn’t take much time.
  7. Next, assemble your mushroom veggie burger. You can add mustard or any low calorie condiment to the mushroom caps. Feel free to add lettuce, tomatoes, and onions to make this lunch even more filling and satisfying.
